How to compete

The next TRBL event is on 23-24 January 2027 in Istanbul. Teams enter one or more of three weight classes, and each class has 32 places. Registrations completed by 1 November 2026 pay the early entry fee.

Who can compete

There is no age or experience limit. A first-time builder and an experienced engineer compete under the same rules. A team needs at least 3 members including the captain, with no upper limit. A team may enter several classes with separate robots, and each entry is paid separately.

Places are allocated in order of registration.

Entry fees

Fees are in Turkish lira and VAT is added. A registration is confirmed once the full fee is paid, and the fee period is set by the date the payment reaches TRBL's account. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another event. The organisers may close registration before the announced date.

Prizes

The prize pool is 400,000 TL. Class champions win cash prizes of 100,000 TL (Featherweight), 60,000 TL (Beetleweight), 40,000 TL (Antweight). Second and third places and three special awards are also covered by the pool. A class with fewer than 8 teams runs as an exhibition with trophies only.

Steps to enter

1. Read the rules summary and the rulebook. Weight, battery voltage and failsafe limits shape the design from the start.
2. Build your team and choose a class. If you want a weight bonus, have the design approved by the Organising Committee before registering.
3. Restricted systems such as pneumatics, flame or combustion engines need approval at least 3 weeks before the event.
4. Fill in the registration form and pay the entry fee.
5. Prepare for technical inspection. Weight, failsafe, power switch and weapon lock are checked before your first match.
